« Paris Berlin Helsinki » at Galleria Jangva

The pictures on display deal with banality. With black and white photography, the viewer is invited to regard the everyday as if it was some unknown landscape. The pictures find their subjects in chance encounters on the street, in "empty" temporary environments like construction sites, heaps of rubbish, billboards and other outdoor advertising.

The object has not been to encourage to view the public urban space with an ironic, alienated view, but instead to record the surrounding reality as a fascinating and complex "accumulation" of meanings.

The photographs date from 2005–2008.
